SF Open Gear Extreme
SF OPEN GEAR EXTREME is designed to replace the traditional heavier products distilled from crude oil (the so-called asphaltic or residuals) that are used to lubricate open gears. Having been formulated with synthetic base oils, SF OPEN GEAR EXTREME is a premium lubricant that has a thickness consistency of NLGI #00 so it can be applied through an automatic lubrication spray system at EXTREME temperatures down to 18° without the need of a drum heater. This sets SF OPEN GEAR EXTREME apart from others within the industry, while delivering a safer, hassle-free operation. Most customers experience a significant reduction in the amount of product being used, as it does not build up and sling off.

Solvent Free
The “SF” in SF OPEN GEAR EXTREME stands for solvent free. Being solvent free opens the door for many applications where you once were limited due to solvents being damaging to our atmosphere and hazardous to workers. In tight places, around heat or ignition sources, SF OPEN GEAR EXTREME can be used in a safe and efficient manner where other gear lubes are not recommended.
Spray System Friendly
Typically used in an automatic lubricating system, SF OPEN GEAR EXTREME is applied with a mist of lubricant being sprayed intermittently on the teeth of a large bull gear. When the bull gear contacts the pinion or other gears, the lubricant is automatically transferred. SF OPEN GEAR EXTREME uses a special gel thickener to allow for a precise and consistent spray application without the problems of plugging of lines or fouling of spray nozzles.
Performs When Others Fail
The improvements made to SF OPEN GEAR EXTREME make it a workhorse for applications, as it is the first open gear lubricant to be manufactured by Texas Refinery Corp using synthetic base oils. SF OPEN GEAR EXTREME has a thickness consistency of NLGI #00 which allows it to be applied through an automatic lubrication spray system without the need of a drum heater, even in EXTREMELY cold temperatures down to 18°F.
