USER BENEFITS:

  • WATERPROOFS
  • STOPS RUST AND CORROSION
  • INSULATES
  • EASY TO APPLY
  • REDUCES ROOF MOVEMENT
  • BEAUTIFIES
Metal roofs eventually rust and corrode when   they are left unprotected.

Rust and corrosion are stopped in their tracks with QUICK-DRY ANTI-OXIDENE, an important part of the ALUMINUM SHIELD METAL ROOF SYSTEM.
Applying one of Texas Refinery's aluminum coatings give metal roofs a "like new" appearance at a fraction of a new roof cost.
The ALUMINUM SHIELD METAL ROOF SYSTEM is a waterproofing and rust preventative coating system specifically designed for the special needs of metal roofs. It is not simply a coating. Instead, it's a combination of three common-sense products that form an aluminum shield over metal roofs to waterproof, prevent rust and corrosion, insulate, beautify and protect. And it does its job so well that it's guaranteed!

Neglected industrial, commercial, agricultural and educational metal roofs
are everywhere.

Cleaning can be done with pressure air (as in photo), detergent or chemical
wash, wire brush or whatever process is available.

WATERPROOFS

The ALUMINUM SHIELD METAL ROOF SYSTEM is specifically
designed to waterproof metal roofs. This is accomplished by using ALUMINUM QUICK-PATCH on seams and fastener heads to seal leaking or potential leaking areas. Texas Refinery's ALUMINUM QUICK-PATCH is fast and easy to apply because it is self-adhering. Just peel the backing off and stick it in place. It's flexible and gives long-lasting waterproofing protection.

Here, ALUMINUM QUICK-PATCH has been used to seal over fastener heads.

ALUMINUM QUICK-PATCH provides an effective waterproof seal around vents
ant other protrusions.

STOPS RUST AND CORROSION

The first step in the ALUMINUM SHIELD METAL ROOF SYSTEM is a coating of Texas Refinery's ANTI-OXIDENE COATING. This stops rust and corosion immediately. Rust and corrosion are the biggest enemies of a metal roof. Eventually all metal roofs will rust and corrode and if left untreated, they will completely deteriorate. If rust and corrosion have not yet begun to form, this system prevents them from starting. But even if rust and corrosion have started, the ALUMINUM SHIELD SYSTEM stops these destructive forces from doing further damage.

INSULATES

The ALUMINUM SHIELD METAL ROOF SYSTEM provides a gleaming coat of protective aluminum over the entire roof. This can reflect as much as 80% of the sun's ultraviolet rays, helping retard surface degradation and prevent heat from ever entering the building. Cooler interiors mean energy savings!

EASY TO APPLY

This system is fast and easy to apply! In fact, it's so easy that it is ideal for do-it-yourself applications. No expensive labor is required. First, QUICK-DRY ANTI-OXIDENE COATING is applied. Next, ALUMINUM QUICK-PATCH is applied to all seams and fasterner heads to seal leaking or potential leaking areas. And then, an aluminum topcoat is applied to the entire roof. It's that fast, easy, effective and economical.

QUICK-DRY ANTI-OXIDENE is easily applied to the roof by spray, brush of roller.

Under favorable conditions, QUICK-DRY ANTI-OXIDENE needs to dry for only a few hours.

REDUCES ROOF MOVEMENT

With the ALUMINUM SHIELD METAL ROOF SYSTEM, roof surfaces are kept at the same relative temperature. This helps eliminate thermal shock which causes expansion and contraction of metal roofs. This lack of movement means longer life for metal roofs.

BEAUTIFIES

Even older, rusted metal roofs are restored to like-new brilliance with the ALUMINUM METAL SHIELD ROOF SYSTEM. Pure aluminum flakes give a long lasting, bright finish that enhances property value.

A beautiful cover of ALUMINUM ROOF COATING, SUPER ALUMINUM ROOF COATING
or TEXOTROPIC finishes the job for ultimate protection.

The ALUMINUM SHIELD METAL ROOF SYSTEM is a wise investment on the farm
or in the city.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

PREPARATION:
Roof surface must be prepared properly. The surface must be    clean, sound and free of dirt, dust, loose rust or other loose particles. Wire brush rusted areas. Damaged metal that is severely rusted or too thin for self support must be replaced. Inspect all screws and fasteners carefully. Retighten or replace as necessary. Clean surface thoroughly and allow to dry.

PRIMING THE SURFACE:
After the surface has been properly prepared, apply QUICK-DRY ANTI-OXIDENE COATING to the entire roof surface by brush, roller or spray at the rate of approximately 300 square feet per gallon on flat surfaces or 200 square feet per gallon on corrugated surfaces. Allow to dry completely.

WATERPROOFING THE SURFACE:
Apply 3-inch wide ALUMINUM QUICK-PATCH to all vertical and horizontal seams by aligning the roll, peeling back release paper, and pressing into place directly over seam. For best results, work with no more than twelve inches at a time.

Apply 3" x 3" ALUMINUM QUICK-PATCH patches over every fastener head. Note: roofs which have high-profile screws or fasteners may require larger patches to provide secure bonding around fasteners. It is recommended such patches be custom-cut from 6" wide ALUMINUM QUICK-PATCH.

TOPCOATING THE SURFACE:
Apply on of Texas Refinery's aluminum coatings:

ALUMINUM ROOF COATING  Non-Fibered
300 square feet per gallon on flat surfaces
200 square feet per gallon on corrugated surfaces

SUPER ALUMINUM ROOF COATING  Lightly-Fibered
200 square feet per gallon on flat surfaces
150 square feet per gallon on corrugated surfaces

TEXOTROPIC FIBERED ALUMINUM ROOF COATING  Heavily-Fibered
100 square feet per gallon on flat surfaces
70 square feet per gallon on corrugated surfaces

When the entire three-step ALUMINUM SHIELD METAL ROOF
SYSTEM is applied, the following warranties are available:

THREE YEARS -     when ALUMINUM ROOF COATING or
SUPER ALUMINUM ROOF COATING is used
                                               as a topcoat.

SIX YEARS -      when TEXOTROPIC FIBERED ALUMINUM
ROOF COATING is used as a topcoat.

Required roof information form must be completed and filed with Texas Refinery Corp. and account must be paid in full before warranty will be validated.
